Motorcycle Safety Tips

• Wear Protective Gear: Always wear a DOT-approved helmet, along with gloves, jackets, pants, and boots designed for motorcycle riding.

• Perform a Pre-Ride Inspection: Check your motorcycle’s brakes, tires, lights, and fluids before each ride.

• Stay Visible: Use reflective gear and bright colors, and position yourself in the lane to be seen by other drivers.

• Follow Traffic Rules: Obey speed limits and all traffic laws, and signal your intentions clearly.

• Keep a Safe Distance: Maintain a safe following distance from other vehicles to allow for sudden stops.

• Be Cautious at Intersections: Approach intersections with caution, as many accidents occur when other drivers don’t see motorcycles.

• Avoid Distractions: Stay focused on the road and avoid using your phone or other distractions while riding.

• Ride Defensively: Anticipate the actions of other drivers and be prepared to react.

• Take a Motorcycle Safety Course: Enroll in a motorcycle safety training program to improve your riding skills and knowledge.

• Know Your Limits: Ride within your skill level and avoid challenging conditions, such as poor weather or heavy traffic, until you gain more experience.
